Alli Cullimore

I believe in channelling my creative urges to produce artwork that is truly unique. My inspiration is the miracle of life itself — drawn from a combination of my emotions, memories and lived experiences.

Gallery 68 was born from a desire to share that vision. Each original painting and limited edition print is created with intention, inviting you to feel something — whether that's stillness, wonder, or a quiet recognition of something familiar.

My work spans original artworks and strictly limited edition fine art prints, available on acrylic, aluminium, canvas, and paper. Once a limited edition is gone, it is gone — each piece is a small act of permanence in an ever-changing world.

After living in Western Australia for nearly 15 years, I developed a deep admiration for the art of local aboriginal artists - their extraordinary glimpses into history and culture, and their bold, considered use of colour, left a lasting impression on me. Australia was where I truly learnt my craft and I have been painting and selling my work internationally for over 18 years.

On returning to the UK in 2019, I made the decision to open Gallery 68 and move into premises in Pylewell Road, Hythe. When Covid-19 forced the physical gallery to close, I moved entirely online — and haven't looked back.

My journey as an artist began later than most. My appreciation of art didn't truly awaken until my 30s, and I didn't pick up a brush until I was 40. I have no formal training — I simply paint what I think and feel in the moment, and I am constantly discovering new techniques and ways of seeing.

I love to create texture in my paintings, I use either texture gel or just lots of paint! I feel it gives the work much more depth, feeling and brings it to life. I utilise metallic paints and mica powders to create my own colours and mix and match where I can.
