B.A. Hons Fine Art
Gayle holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art with First Class Honours and was previously shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries, one of the UK’s leading contemporary art exhibitions.
Gayle has used most classic and not so classic (sweets, plaster and found objects - to name but a few) art mediums. At university whilst studying Fine Art, she specialised in film and photography and currently specialises in abstract painting. No matter the medium, Gayle’s work has always had an abstract element.
Working as an art technician and teaching ceramics, Gayle has been exposed to art in many forms and as a result is passionate about its therapeutic value. She has worked with traditional artists and young contemporary artists, emphasising art’s relatability to the human experience.
This eclectic experience and Gayle’s refreshing creativity has culminated in her expressive paintings today. They use colour and diffusion to explore how colour can affect the mood. Gayle believes in interpretive freedom - her work should be interpreted by the individual, not dictated by the artist. Ultimately, her work is always evolving and never stagnant.
