Anne Tognaq originates from Romania and studied fine art at the Academy of Arts in Bucharest. She resides in Southampton and has travelled the world exhibiting her artwork in both personal and group exhibitions.
Becoming an artist for Anne was something she didn't set out to become, but once she began to paint she realised it was her way forward, and the only way of expressing her frustration of living in a communist society where artistic creations were restricted or even, forbidden.
She is fascinated by the limits of a brainwashed society. She believe's in Egregore, a concept representing "a thought form" or "collective group of minds", an autonomous psychic entity made up and influencing the thoughts of a group of people. Her main theme reflects the deterioration of the human condition in our society.
As an artist, she is a storyteller with stories coming from the mirror of her subconscious mind.
